MUSICIANS PLAYLIST 1988
Like our WRITERS PLAYLIST’s (see prev. staff posts) the “MUSICIANS PLAYLIST” was accumulated in order for you to better understand where certain bands are coming from. As any musician will know, almost everything you listen to can/will influence you and most likely surface in your own compositions or playing in some way shape or form.
By checking out these lists, you can plainly see who and what these individual musicians favor and hopefully get a general idea of their personal taste in music (other than their own band). This was 1988 folks!
Sometimes what these musicians listen to and what they actually play are vastly different and can be both peculiar and astonishing at the same time!
*This is just a sampling of lists that we were able to compile over the years. Stay tuned for more Top 5′s.

Special thanks to all the bands who participated and filled out the “famous” Demolish info/fact sheet at the time of interviews.
Speaking of interviews, consider the above list a sort of “sneak-peak” as far as the bands that we conducted interviews with and what will be posted in the coming DEMOLISH blog posts.
*If you like lists, then make sure you subscribe to our Metal Blog via RSS feeds (or email)…as, I will be covering a lot more of your favorite bands and their Top 5 Playlists in future posts.

It is very, very cool to see that Jason Rainey lists Misfits “Walk Among Us” as one of his listening favorites. I am an enormous fan of the Misfits… every song on every album that these Horror Punk Legends created is revered by me. So many Heavy Metal bands and/or musicians mention Misfits when being asked about influences… or so it seems to me.

Well, I always like to pick the “underdogs” if-you-will. I am sure most other editors would have picked Phil’s list or Wiley’s (lead guitarist) instead of Jason.
I am not a big MISFITS fan. Don’t know why, just one of those bands that slipped through the cracks or whatever for me.
You are correct – they were very influential at that time.
I do remember lots of 80′s Metal bands wearing Misfits/Samhain t-shirts.
I think I will make a post about that topic.
